Manual QA Engineer
As a QA Engineer, your mission will be to ensure that our team delivers products to the very highest level of quality, while also contributing to the development of our QA frameworks used across all engineering teams in the business. You will use Agile methodologies to build, test and deliver products and features across our suite of products. You will be part of a dedicated team of passionate and talented engineers supporting Matchbook and our software across different jurisdictions, helping to drive our mission to become a leading global platform.
We also offer the opportunity to work fully remotely, providing flexibility while maintaining close collaboration within our distributed engineering team. You will play a key role in ensuring the highest levels of quality in the next phase of features and products on the exchange as part of the Matchbook Product Engineering Team.
What will I be doing?
The QA Engineer will use Agile methodologies to build, test, and deliver products and features across our suite of products. Key responsibilities include:
- Manual testing: Web and Mobile (native)
- Defining and planning test cycles and test quality
- Designing and maintaining test plans, test scripts, test cases, and test data
- Coordinating all test activities across product owners, scrum masters, and developers on all Agile teams to ensure smooth test cycles (integration, system, cross-browser, regression, deployment)
- Liaising with development leads to ensure timely resolution of system defects
- Estimating testing efforts for projects
- API Testing
- Producing test progress reports and status updates
- Providing clear and accurate reporting on testing progress and results
- Communicating with multi-national teams regarding projects and issues
- Playing a key role in ensuring the highest levels of quality in the next phase of features and products on the exchange
Essential Qualifications & Skills
(What we're looking for)
- Previous experience in Manual testing: Web and Mobile (native)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
- Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead and mentor others in testing practices
- Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and defect tracking systems.
- Enthusiasm for software development and QA methodologies
- Ownership mindset with the ability to overcome obstacles
- Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight timeframes
Bonus Skills -
- Domain knowledge of the gambling industry with knowledge of exchange betting
- BSc. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Knowledge of Python
- Knowledge of Docker
- ISTQB certification or similar is a plus
